A Review
So those that know me, know that I am a foodie, and big into good BBQ, I mean what meat lover isn’t.
Over the years I have had lots of brisket, cooked in different ways, most of the time at a restaurant they tend to be a little dry or tough on the edges. But the same cannot be said for Single Tree BBQ. The edges were firm, but not chewy, the inside moist and flavorful. What I liked bast was that while it is smoked meat, the smoke was not over powering. No wonder they usually sell out early.
The cuts are nice, the trim leaves just enough fat to give it juice, but not enough to feel like you are biting into a chunk of lard. Over all I would give this brisket 4 1/2 out of 5 stars. The – half is I wanted more..
I got this with a side of Mac-and-Cheese. Those that watch my show know that I love some good cooked Mac-and-Cheese. Most places serve it either watered down, or too dry, but even after traveling home the cheese was still smooth with a slight smokey taste. Overall give the Mac-and-Cheese a 4 out of 5. The one thing I would have added was maybe a little grated cheese, by itself or baked on the top.
While I was there I picked up a bottle or their BBQ Sauce. Those that know me, know that I usually don’t use pre-made BBQ Sauce. I prefer to make my own. Everyone makes it a little different, and I tend to like mine best, but this sauce was good. Not over powering in seasoning, and not too thick. Just the right amount of flavor and consistency. I like it, but being bias for my own, I give it a 4 out of 5.
Overall service, food and friendliness I give Single Tree BBQ a 9 out of 10. Which those that know me, is a big compliment, as I tend to be picky when eating out.
If you are in Middle TN, check them out, be sure to get there early, as they tend to sell out.
